History
The University has a long and lively history in Hertfordshire, providing top-notch higher education for more than 50 years. In 1952, the University of Hertfordshire was founded as a technical college on property given by AS Butler, the de Havilland Aircraft company’s chairman at the time.

Living on campus is fun, economical, and a fantastic opportunity to meet new people. The resident assistants will be there to help you around-the-clock, and you’ll be near to everything you need, from the library and lecture halls to the social areas and sports facilities. You don’t have to be concerned about the growing cost of gas and electricity because all utility costs are covered by your rent. Fast internet, an ethernet port, a TV aerial socket, a desk with storage, a light, a chair, and a wardrobe are all included in each room (two of each in twin room). A bedside cabinet with storage shelf is present in every room but the Single en suite.

Life at Herts is centered around our two sizable, cutting-edge Learning Resources Centers (LRCs), which are also the Many of the services and facilities in the libraries and computer centers enhance students’ academic journeys.
The LRCs provide access to thousands of print volumes as well as a variety of study spaces, PCs, high-end computing rooms, and printing equipment.

On our College Lane site, there is a general practice called The Medical Center. Students who live nearby or on campus are eligible for the service. All of the medical professionals have a wealth of knowledge and a passion for treating pupils. Access for wheelchairs and services for the disabled are available at the surgery.
