JAMB Admission Status in 2022: How To Check

JAMB Admission Status in 2022 | The management of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) activated the portal through which Direct Entry and UTME candidates can now check or confirm their admission status for all years. Checking your admission status on the JAMB portal is absolutely FREE!

In fact, some colleges/universities/colleges may not even post their admit list on their own portal or bulletin board on time. For candidates who applied to those schools, the only way to know when they applied is to check their admission status on the JAMB Admission Status Check portal.

JAMB Admission Status in 2022: How to check JAMB admission status

If you do not have an account with JAMB (especially candidates from 2016 onwards), you will need to create an account to check your admission status.

If you already have a JAMB profile, please follow the five (5) simple steps below on how to check your admission status on the

JAMB Admission List Portal:

Step 1: Go to the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) online facility portal: portal.jamb.gov.ng/efacility.
Step 2: Sign in to your Jamb profile with your username and password.
Step 3: Once you have successfully logged in, scroll down, locate and click the Check Admission Status tab.
Step 4 – Select the exam year and enter your registration number in the required columns.
Step 5: Finally, click the Check Admission Status button to access your JAMB Admission Status.

Here is the list of responses you’ll get from JAMB and what they mean:

Congratulations, you have been granted provisional admission: you can now proceed to accept or decline your offer of admission. Keep in mind the tips here.
Admission in Progress: Means that it has been recommended for acceptance and is in progress only. With acceptance in progress, consider yourself accepted. Just keep checking back and watch the notification change to congratulations on your acceptance.
Not allowed: This response simply means that you must still be considered for admission. Please check the JAMB website regularly for any changes.

Next step for candidates admitted to the JAMB portal

Successfully admitted candidates are advised to:

Log in to JAMB’s Central Admission Processing System (CAPS) and accept or decline your admission.
RECOMMENDED: How to decline/accept your admission to JAMB CAPS.
Print your JAMB acceptance letter after accepting admission. This will be required during authorization and registration.
Print your original JAMB results sheet (it comes with your passport photo attached).
Request a course change on the JAMB portal if different courses are offered than the one you originally requested.
What to do if your JAMB admission status shows ‘Not yet accepted’
Still not recognized? If so, please note the following:

1. Log in to JAMB CAPS to verify that your Level O result has been uploaded.

It is important to check whether your O’level result has been uploaded to the JAMB portal or not, as not uploading your O’level result may affect your JAMB admission status.

Login to your JAMB profile (https://www.jamb.org.ng/efacility_/)
Click “Check Admission Status”
Click on “Access my CAPS”
Click on ‘My O Level’ to confirm if your O level has been uploaded. If not, please visit any JAMB CBT location near you to upload your O’level result. Candidates whose CAPS O level status indicates ‘Result Pending’ cannot be processed for admission.

2. Check if you have been recommended to transfer to another program.

Based on the JAMB CAPS implementation policy, institutions are entitled to consider some candidates for transfer from one selection program to another due to combinations of UTME and O’level.

Candidates are expected to check their admission by following instructions a-c above and then clicking the “Accept Transfer” link to see if they are recommended to transfer to another program. You must accept or decline this transfer consideration. If you agree, the institution of your first choice may accept you into the new program. If you decline, you will remain in your preferred course/program. Transfer of programs will not take place.

3. I have applied for JAMB UTME with pending result.

Candidates who have used “Result On Hold” during their registration must upload their O’Level result to the JAMB portal for their chosen institution to process their admission. To avoid disqualification, Direct Entry candidates, including JUPEB students, must also upload their A-level and O’level results. This is to allow selection officers to determine your qualifications for admission. RECOMMENDED: How to upload O’Level output to JAMB portal/profile.
