20 Best Conservative Christian Colleges

Best Conservative Christian Colleges;-Conservative Christians may have a challenging decision when it comes to college. You won’t find religious programs or majors that teach the Bible from a conservative Christian perspective, and most secular colleges and universities’ teachings and campus cultures, especially those at public colleges, don’t match with the convictions of conservative Christians. For the purposes of this essay, we have construed the word “conservative Christian” broadly to refer to evangelical colleges and institutions that foster a conservative campus culture consistent with the beliefs of conservative evangelical Christians.

The bible is typically interpreted more metaphorically and less literally in theologically liberal institutions. These days, finding institutions that are both politically and theologically liberal is not difficult. However, don’t give up hope! There are several conservative colleges available in a range of denominations. Politically and theologically, Christian higher education is immensely diverse. Its diversity rivals that of secular higher education, if not exceeds it. The FAQ that follows the ranking contains more information on that, how we choose these colleges, and other pertinent subjects.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • How do you define conservative Christian college?

It’s a valid question because “Christian” and “conservative” are both arbitrary labels. The fact that there are over 20,000 Christian groups, not all of which acknowledge one another as legitimate, makes it obvious to us that there is no universal solution to this topic, despite the fact that individuals may regard their definition to be the accurate objective one. The conservative Christian website Christian Answers had a list of colleges and universities, so we choose to use that as our option. Simply put, their concept of conservatism is what they consider to be such on a religious, rather than necessarily political, level.

Thus, a literal young-earth creationist reading of the book of Genesis is shared by all of the highlighted institutions. Schools must adopt the theological stance that creation occurred over the course of six 24-hour days, that there was no death prior to sin, and that there was a real global flood in order to be included on the list. The list is updated regularly, most recently on June 3, 2021.

We created this list of more than 150 institutions and then applied the ranking criteria. If a school didn’t have regional accreditation or had a graduation rate below 50%, it was immediately eliminated. In the FAQ about our ranking, these exclusions will be described in more detail.

  • Do any of these schools offer online programs?

There are at least a few online degree programs available at many of these conservative universities. Some even provide a sizable array of bachelor’s degree programs online. I highlighted some of the institutions’ bachelor’s degree options online in the descriptions, but even for those I didn’t include, there might be some available. So be sure to look into what they have to offer if one of these conservative universities appeals to you and you want to study online.
