What is NSFAS?

MyNsfas Account 2022/ login my nsfas status
Students or NSFAS applicants are strongly encouraged to create their MyNSFAS accounts. The process is as follows below
- Go to www.nsfas.org.za and click on “myNsfas account“.
- Enter your username and password.
- Click on the “My personal details” tab.
- Update your cellphone number and/or email address to your current one.
- Click “Update your details” to proceed.
- A One Time Pin (OTP) will be sent to the new number and email address that you have provided.
- Enter the OTP and click submit.
- Your details will immediately be updated.
Your email address is your username. Protect your username and password.
If you are an applicant and have an existing account, you can log in with your username and password or with your Facebook and Google account.
Your mobile phone number or email address must be unique and cannot be shared.
If you are an unsuccessful applicant for NSFAS 2022 and have submitted an appeal, you can check the results of your application (NSFAS status) by logging into your myNSFAS account.

To check the status of your NSFAS application:
- Log in to your myNSFAS account portal.
- Enter your ID or username and password.
- Click Sign In! button.
- Once you are logged into your account dashboard, click Track Funding Progress to check the status of your application.
- If your application was successful, congratulations! If not, better luck next time.
- If your NSFAS application status result reads “unsuccessful,” you may submit an appeal with the requested information and document. Submit your appeal within 30 days after an “unsuccessful” status appears on your NSFAS portal dashboard.
How to reset your MyNsfas account password?
Already have an account but forgot your MyNsfas account password?
Don’t panic, just reset your nsfas login password by:
- Click on the “Forgot Password” tab and enter your ID number
- Choose if you forgot your username and password and click Submit
- You will receive OTP via email and SMS
- Type the one-time password you received and click “Submit”
- You will then be asked to create a new password.
