GDE Admissions Register 2022-2023
The Gauteng Department of Education has opened online applications for admission to grades seven and eight for the 2022 academic year. Applications are open from August 10 to September 3, 2021.
Parents can apply to a maximum of 5 schools. Supporting documents must be submitted with the application, and this must be done within 7 days of submitting the application.
GDE Admissions Register 2022 Online Application & Registration
Parents are encouraged to use a trusted mobile phone number when applying, as the department will send regular SMS messages to the cell phone number used for registration and application.
If you need help with applications, the department has created decentralized entry centers that are available from 08:00 to 16:00.
Applications to enroll learners in schools are not approved on a first come first serve basis, so parents don’t have to worry.

How do I register with Gde?
- Step 1: Register Personal Details. After entering password, Make sure that your password contains all the following characters: 1 lower case alphabetical character.
- Step 2: Address Details.
- Step 3: Register Learner Details.
- Step 4: Apply to a School.
- Step 5: Upload / Submit Documents.

Is Gde registration for 2022 Open?
The Gauteng Department of Education has opened online applications for grade 7 and grade 8 admissions for the 2022 school year. Applications are expected to be opened from August 10 to 03 September 2022.
How do I check my Gde admission status?
- Go to the GDE Admission Portal via: https://www.gdeadmissions.gov.za/login/
- Log in with your Application Details, i.e Your username and password received through SMS during the initial stage of your application.
- Here you will check your GDE Admissions Register Status. Click HERE to check your GDE Status.
