The team of Simba SC from the city of Dar es Salaam today January 08, 2024 expects to go to the field to meet the Jamhuri FC team from Zanzibar in the continuation of the Mapinduzi CUP Tournament which is expected to end on 13/01/2024.

This game will be one of the Quarter Final games after finishing the Group stage last week. Simba Iwas in Group B finished in first place ahead of the Singida FG, APR and JKU teams.

Jamhuri FC finished in second place in group A and managed to advance to the Quarter Finals.
The winner of today’s game will get a ticket to play the Semi-final of Mapinduzi CUP at that time he will be playing with the winner between Azam FC vs Singida FG.

ABOUT MAPINDUZI CUP 2024 (Kikosi Cha Simba vs Jamhuri Leo)

Mapinduzi CUP is a competition managed by the Zanzibar Football Association under the Sponsorship of the Revolutionary Government of Zanzibar (Serikali ya Mapinduzi ya Zanzibar). The tournament of this competition has been held every year for the celebration of the Zanzibar Revolution which culminates on 12/01/ every year.

For different seasons, this competition has been held by the Tanzania Mainland Teams that hold the Tanzania Premier League (NBC Premier League) which are always the four teams that finish in the top four positions and also hold the top four teams in the position of the Zanzibar Premier League.

In this 2023-2024 season, this Revolution CuP Championship has held a total of 12 teams where the Managers of this Championship have decided to invite other teams from outside of Tanzania such as APR of Rwanda, JMC of South Sudan and others from Burundi.
The participating Tanzanian teams include Simba sc, Singida FTG, Yanga Sc and Azam Fc.
At the same time Zanzibar teams participating in this competition include JKU, Jamhuri, KVZ and others.

The winner of this competition expects to grab a prize of TZs 100 Million while the second winner will grab TZs 50 Million.

Due to the weight and size of these prizes, this competition has been very exciting and led to great excitement from fans inside and outside of Tanzania.

ABOUT JAMHURI FC

Jamhuri Sports Club, is a football club based in Pemba Island, Zanzibar.

Jamhuri was established in 1953, and at that time was called Barghash Sports Club.[1] After the Zanizibar revolution in 1964, the name was changed to Jamhuri.

The main rival team is Mwenge S.C. as both teams are located in Wete. Jamhuri was the first team from Pemba Island to be crowned champions of the Zanzibar Premier League.
