Duties and responsibilities

• To raise awareness and educate wholesale and retail customers;
• To conduct area maps and active marketing campaigns by making visits to potential customers in order to attract new customers;
• Close coordination with fund borrowers to ensure timely repayment of loans;
• To perform credit assessments of loan applicants and recommend eligible borrowers;
• To prepare and submit credit assessment reports to the Branch Manager for review and approval as specified in the Fund’s approval matrix;
• To ensure that the branch meets or exceeds the loan objectives as agreed in the business plan;
•  To brief clients during loan releases;
• Reporting and assisting the legal officer of the Fund in matters of litigation against borrowing clients;
• To prepare and submit credit applications to the branch manager for review and recommendation for approval by the relevant authority;
• Prepare loan portfolio management reports and submit them to the branch manager for review and guidance;
• To submit loan applications, credit analysis and loan application summaries and submit them to loan committees for approval;

•  To ensure post-disbursement compliance with approved terms and conditions as well as review of credit expiration, repayment progress, insurance, and mortgage after the fact of the matter;
•  To assist in monitoring the registration, filing and withdrawal of security documents;
•  Be responsible for evaluating, monitoring and matching collateral with original documents;
• To ensure compliance with credit approval terms and regulatory conditions and requirements;
• To prepare loan agreements and ensure that they are complete and accurate in accordance with applicable policies;
• To evaluate customer credit data and financial statements in order to determine the degree of risk involved in lending money to customers;
• To consult with credit and reference societies to share credit information on customers;
• To assess the financial condition of clients by producing financial ratios;
•  To make recommendations about procedural/policy changes; And
• To perform any other duties as may be assigned by the supervisor.

QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE

Holders of Bachelor Degree in one of the following fields: Finance, Banking, Financial Management, Development Finance and Investment Planning, Microfinance, Accounting, Entrepreneurship, Economics, Agricultural Economics, Commerce or Business Administration majoring in either Finance, Banking, Microfinance, Accounting, Entrepreneurship or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.

EXTRA QUALIFICATION

i. Ability to sale and market SELF MF Products

ii. Ability to negotiate with clients

iii. Ability to analyze and interpret loan applications

iv. Ability to recover defaulted loans

v. Good communication skills

vi. Readiness to work anywhere in Tanzania
