Job specification:

  • Ensuring the storage and transportation of petroleum products through the pipeline in the most efficient, safe and economical manner.
  • Ensure that a viable sourcing logistics program is maintained, which is based on product supply statistical figures and corresponding product requirements.
  • Ensure maintenance and maintenance of required product quality standards in the pipeline and warehousing system by liaising with the SHEQ Manager.
  • Liaise with oil marketing companies and other stakeholders on initial allocations, product transportation, pipeline supply logistics program and other operational issues.
  • Liaise and coordinate with the Operations Manager and other stakeholders in the day-to-day operation of the warehouse.
  • Advise the Operations Manager on changes in operational requirements that may be necessary to improve petroleum pumping.
  • Ensure the safe and proper use of equipment and machinery.
  • Liaise with the Maintenance Manager who is affected by appropriate maintenance schedules to improve plant and equipment availability and efficiency.
  • Ensure budget allocations are made while expenditures in the department are controlled within agreed budgets.
  • Follow the accuracy and timely production of all operations department management reports and ensure reports are sent and distributed properly as necessary.
  • Ensure that all safety and environmental protection regulations are adhered to.
  • Provide technical leadership to multidisciplinary teams to enable them to develop, implement and evaluate strategic corporate plans and budgets aimed at improving the performance of the organization.
  • Develop and implement strategies to create a high-performance organizational culture based on transparency, integrity and accountability, and measure performance and results to ensure that program activities are implemented on sound management principles and practices.
  • Initiating and participating in organizational performance reviews and business process improvement programs as well as conducting special investigations aimed at improving organizational effectiveness.
  • Participate in the recruitment and selection of staff to ensure that the selected candidates have the required job competencies and are provided with the mentoring and mentoring program necessary for effective job performance.
  • Review incidents of violations against organizational policies and regulations as well as handle employee disputes and take appropriate actions in line with approved policies, procedures and regulations.
  • Coordination and implementation of training programs in the Operations Department, which aims to provide employees with appropriate functional competencies in order to improve the design and delivery of high-quality services.
  • Plan, monitor and evaluate employee performance against established goals and objectives and implement development work plans aimed at building the capacities of individuals and multidisciplinary teams
