About

History
We may trace our ancestry back to 1838, when Baptist leaders’ access to higher education broke down. If their denomination prevented them from enrolling in or teaching at other colleges, they would start their own institution in order to break down barriers for both themselves and others.
Acadia removed a further obstacle in 1884 by allowing women to enroll in its university.
