Top 10 Universities in India;- Top Indian institutions’ NIRF rankings for 2022 have been made public. IISc Bangalore has maintained first place for a seventh consecutive year. Find out which other universities in India are among the top 10.

In the newly issued NIRF Rankings 2022 for the best universities in India, IISc Bangalore has once again taken the top spot. In the NIRF Ranking, Jawaharlal Nehru University ranks second, followed by Jamia Millia Islamia at number three, Jadavpur University in Kolkata at number four, and Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham in Coimbatore at number five.

The majority of the universities that made it into the top 10 are the same as those who were ranked in 2021. The varsity moved up from number 13 in 2021 to position 9 in 2022, indicating a considerable improvement for Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT), Vellore, from the previous year.

Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bangalore (NIRF Rank 1)

IISc Bangalore, one of the greatest institutions in India for cutting-edge scientific and technical research and teaching, has topped the NIRF Ranking 2021 with a massive overall score of 83.57. Divisions of Biological Sciences, Division of Chemical Sciences, Division of Physical & Mathematical Sciences, Division of Electrical Sciences, Division of Mechanical Sciences, and Division of Interdisciplinary Research are among those under which the institute offers a variety of Science courses to students.

Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), New Delhi (NIRF Rank 2)

JNU, one of India’s top universities, is a favorite among students who want to study the humanities. Many of the university’s academic centers have been designated “Centres of Excellence” by the University Grants Commission (UGC). JNU received a score of 68.47, placing them in second place.

Jamia Milia Islamia (NIRF Rank 3)

A major university in Delhi is called Jamia Milia Islamia, or JMI. The UGC acknowledges it and it was founded in 1920. It is accredited with a “A” Grade by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council and a member of the Association of Indian Universities (AIU) (NAAC). With a score of 65.91, Jamia Milia Islamia is ranked third in the University category.

Jadavpur University, Kolkata (NIRF Rank 4)

Jadavpur University, which was founded in 1955, is renowned for the technology, science, and arts courses it offers. The University is a semi-residential institution with two campuses: Salt Lake and Jadavpur, which together cover 58 acres (spread across 26 acres). Students at Jadavpur University can take courses in the humanities, sciences, engineering, and technology fields. With a score of 65.37, the Jadavpur University was ranked number four in the university category in the NIRF Ranking 2022.

Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Coimbatore (NIRF Rank 5)

Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, a multi-campus, multi-disciplinary research university, is regarded as one of the greatest in India. Six campuses make up the university, which has locations in Kerala, Tamil Nadu, and Karnataka. Centre for Allied Health Sciences, School of Arts & Science, School of Ayurveda, School of Biotechnology, School of Business, Department of Communication, School of Dentistry, School of Education, School of Engineering, Medicine, Centre for Nanosciences, College of Nursing, School of Pharmacy, and Department of Social Work are a few of the schools and departments under which the university provides students with a variety of courses. Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham had a score of 63.40, good for rank 5.

Banaras Hindu University (BHU), Varanasi (NIRF Rank 6)

BHU, an institution with widespread acclaim, is well known for the research-oriented courses it offers in the Humanities and Sciences streams. The university features a large number of specialized research centers, 10 departments covered by the Special Assistance Program, and six centers for advanced study. The institution claims to be Asia’s largest residential university. This primary university’s main campus covers 1,300 acres in total. BHU received a score of 63.20, placing them in sixth place.

Manipal Academy of Higher Education-Manipal (NIRF Rank 7)

Manipal Academy of Higher Education, formerly Manipal University, is a deemed-to-be-university situated in the Indian state of Karnataka. The university also has offshore campuses in Dubai and Malaysia in addition to off-shore campuses in Bangalore and Mangalore. The university’s Mangalore campus offers programs in the medical, dental, and nursing fields. Regenerative Medicine courses are available at the Bangalore campus. While the Melaka (Malaysia) campus offers programs in medicine and dentistry, the Dubai location offers courses in engineering, management, and architecture. With a score of 62.84, Manipal Academy of Higher Education was ranked 7th among Universities.

Calcutta University, Kolkata (NIRF Rank 8)

One of the first institutions in India was Calcutta University, which was established in 1854. The university provides students with a variety of undergraduate and graduate programs through faculties and institutes like the Institute of Agricultural Science, the Faculty Council for Post-Graduate Studies in the Arts, the Faculty Council for Post-Graduate Studies in the Commerce, Social Welfare, and Business Management, the Faculty Council for Post-Graduate Studies in the Education, Journalism, and Library Science, the Faculty Council for Post-Graduate Studies in Engineering & Technology, and the Faculty Council for Po With a score of 62.23, Calcutta University was ranked eighth by the NIRF.

Vellore Institute of Technology (NIRF Rank 9)

The Vellore Engineering College, the predecessor to the Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT), was formed in 1984 under Section 3 of the University Grants Commission (UGC) Act, 1956. Vellore Engineering College received university status from the Union Ministry of Human Resources Development in 2001. VIT had a score of 61.77, placing it at NIRF position 9.

University of Hyderabad (UoH), Hyderabad (NIRF Rank 10)

Hyderabad University, which is situated in Telangana, is regarded as one of the best postgraduate teaching and research institutions in India.
