Services for International Students

For the benefit of overseas students, Edinburgh’s International Office offers a wide range of services and programs. Pre-sessional English instruction and a postgraduate degree are combined in the Integrated English for Academic Purposes course. Numerous events are held at the International Student Center, which also serves as a focal point for international issues.

New international students are greeted at Edinburgh Airport on arrivals weekends in September and January, and the Resident Life service will organize events and social gatherings after they arrive at the residence halls to aid in their integration into the institution and the community.

To assist them in integrating and advancing their education, the institution offers two programs that let international students meet locals and current students: the International Buddy Scheme and the Hospitality Scheme.
