JOB TITTLE: ACCOUNTS OFFICER

JOBS AT: Good Neighbors

REPORTS TO: Assistant Finance Manager, Finance Manager

LOCATION: Within Dar es salaam, Tanzania

CONTRACT DURATION: 1 year

APPLICATION DEADLINE: 15th February, 2022

We are looking for a bespoke Account Officer to assist in our Finance department. Accounts officer responsibilities include keeping financial records up-to-date, checking for inaccuracies, and handling inquiries related to general accounts.

• He/She must have knowledge of basic accounting procedures,
• Be open to learning,
• He/She have strong communication skills.
• He/She Must be able to achieve outstanding service and keep accurate financial records.

Duties and responsibilities

• Perform bank reconciliation of all bank accounts managed by HO and NFO and ensure proper submission on due dates
• Maintains on a weekly basis accurate filing and record keeping system of all financial documents in HO and NFO
• Write bank payment slip, bank income slip, transfer letters for all approved BRQ and remittances on daily basis
• Provide regular and timely progress report on missing documents as per the real time status of HO and NFO
• Ensure GNTZ financial controls, financial, accounting, administrative policies and manual
• Required to achieve 70% of annual goals for individuals and the department.
• Any other related duties that may be assigned.

Qualifications, Experience and Competencies

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field
• At least two years’ experience in finance, accounting or any related field.
• Experience working with NGOs
• Excellent Communication Skills
• Excellent written and oral proficiency in English and Swahili

• Honesty, integrity, transparency and professionalism
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and time and the ability to adapt to shifts
• Ability to follow instructions and work with minimal supervision

• Strong knowledge and understanding of accounting, financial management and related information procedures.
• Proficiency in QuickBooks, MS Office applications, and Ms. Word, Excel and Powerpoint.
• Perform other duties as required
