About CAF Champions League
The CAF Champions League, formerly the African Cup of Champions Clubs and now known as the TotalEnergies CAF Champions League for sponsorship reasons, is an annual club football competition hosted by the Confederation of African Football and competed in by top-tier African clubs. The competition is decided by a round-robin group stage that determines qualification for a double-legged knockout stage, followed by a single leg final. It is both the most prestigious club competition in African football and one of the most prestigious football events in the entire globe.
The winner of the competition qualifies for the FIFA Club World Cup, which is played between the champion teams from each of the six continental confederations. They also get to play the winner of the CAF Confederation Cup in the CAF Super Cup the following year.
