California Institute of Technology;- One of the top private research colleges in the world, California Institute of Technology is based in the Californian town of Pasadena. It was founded in 1891 as Throop University and served as a vocational school. Due to its strengths in engineering and natural science, it is now known as Caltech. The Western Association of Schools and Colleges has granted this university authorization. It has ties to NASA, HHMI, and AAU (JPL).

The Rosen Bioengineering Center, Beckman Institute, Kavli Nanoscience Institute, Tianqiao and Chrissy Chen Institute for Neuroscience, and Resnick Sustainability Institute are the five institutes that make up the Caltech campus. On the university campus, the Millikan Library is the tallest structure. The institute also has campuses in Washington, Hawaii, Louisiana, and Switzerland in addition to Pasadena. Caltech’s seven buildings, which serve as both student and family houses on the campus, are spread across 124 acres of land. The institution also sponsors a number of male and female sporting teams in the sports of basketball, volleyball, soccer, tennis, swimming, and fencing. California Institute of Technology

In the fields of mathematics, chemistry, biology, computer science, physics, and earth sciences, Caltech provides graduate, undergraduate, and doctoral degree programs. The university’s academic organization is divided into six divisions: engineering, applied science, humanities and social sciences, chemistry and chemical engineering, physics, mathematics and astronomy, and biology and biological engineering. Approximately 948 students are enrolled in undergraduate programs at Caltech, and there are over 1,285 graduate students. Caltech employs about 3,900 people total, including academic faculty members who are both alumni and non-alumni. Professors with extensive knowledge and expertise in the natural and applied sciences are part of the university personnel. California Institute of Technology

Caltech keeps a list of prominent graduates who have made a name for themselves in their areas. 38 Noble laureates are among the more than 24,000 alumni of the university. Hagan, Harrison A well-known geologist and NASA astronaut, Jack Schmitt graduated from Caltech in 1957. Linus Carl Pauling, a well-known author and biochemist, also received a degree from this institution. Mustafa A.G. Abushagur, a former deputy prime minister of Libya, Charles Gordon Fullerton, an astronaut and air force colonel, Regina Dugan, the agency’s first female director, Arvind Virmani, a former chief economic adviser to the Indian government, Arati Prabhakar, the agency’s 20th director, Arnold Orville Beckman, the creator of the pH meter, and Gordon Earle Moore, an American engineer and co-founder of Intel Corporation.

Mission and Organization

The Beckman Institute’s goal is to develop new techniques, tools, and materials that will enable fundamental studies in the chemical and biological sciences, as well as to offer technological assistance to these endeavors. The Beckman Institute works to create an environment and a support system that will encourage the start-up and early development of research initiatives that are too innovative or “high-risk” for the typical sources of research support in government and business. The Beckman Institute’s activities will be distinguished by their potential of making important technological advancements in the basic sciences of biology, chemistry, and allied domains. The new understanding that emerges will ultimately have enormous practical advantages for humanity and society. Additionally, the Beckman Institute will support Caltech’s educational mission. The Beckman Institute divides its scientific work primarily into three categories of important programs: Resource Centers, Facilities, and Pilot Projects. Support requests that don’t naturally fit into one of those categories may also be taken into account on an as-needed basis; they should be directed at the BI Director or Administrator. The Caltech community and suitable outside groups are welcome to use the public area in the BI building (including indoor and outdoor space); details and instructions for making reservations can be found here.
