About

History
Fort Hays State University’s founding students probably had no idea that a prairie dog village would eventually be transformed into a vast campus a century later. In fact, the first structure the school ever occupied wasn’t even on the current campus. the medical facility at Fort Hays, an ex-army outpost that had been deserted in 1889.

At Fort Hays State University, the Office of Technology Services is responsible for maintaining and providing support for all aspects of technology, including desktop, lab, and classroom support as well as enterprise administrative systems and applications, networking and infrastructure, telecommunications, information security, and learning technologies.

Student Life

College life
Hays, Kansas is home to the quaint, tree-lined campus of Fort Hays State (on I-70, halfway between Kansas City and Denver). In the center of historic Hays, FHSU is a warm community that celebrates its frontier heritage and modern sensibility through coffee shops, unique eateries, shopping, and a thriving arts scene.

sporting events
The Schmidt-Bickle Training Facility, which is next to Lewis Field Stadium, was finished in July 2013. The football program can use the 55-yard, full-width, synthetic grass football field in this indoor training facility, which also has one end zone. The building also has a 5,000 square foot weight training area, four synthetic surface jogging lanes of 60 meters in length, 2,500 square feet of equipment storage, restrooms, and office space for the staff facility manager and cleaning support area, which also serves as the officials’ dressing room.
