The University of Dodoma (UDOM) was officially established in March 2007 following the signing of the charter by the President of the United Republic of Tanzania. The first academic programs started in September 2007. The university is located in Chimwaga district about 8 kilometers east of Dodoma city center within Dodoma city. The university has seven colleges.

On behalf of the University of Dodoma (UDOM), the Public Service Recruitment Secretariat (PSRS) invites dynamic and suitably qualified Tanzanians to fill 3 vacancies as listed below;

LECTURER ON BIOLOGY – 1 Post

Duties and Responsibilities:

i). To undertake an introductory course in educational skills for those who have never seen before
ii). To conduct lectures and hold lessons, seminars and practical for undergraduate and postgraduate programs.
iii). To guide junior staff in related fields

iv). To participate / contribute to the development of the curriculum

v). Participate in the development and management of the various constituent university / college activities
vi). To conduct research and publish / publish results

vii). To do counseling and community service
viii). To write teaching brochures and compendium

ix). To supervise the university’s field practical projects, master’s and doctoral theses/dissertations

x). To attend / organize workshops, conferences, seminars and;

xi). To perform any other duties that may be assigned to it by the competent authorities

Qualifications and Experience:

PhD degree in molecular biology, biotechnology, microbiology, biochemistry, bioinformatics, or veterinary medicine. Master’s degree in Biology, Biotechnology, Microbiology or Biochemistry, with a minimum GPA of 4.0 out of 5 and a GPA of at least 3.8 out of 5 in the first class in the respective fields.

ASSISTANT LECTURER- SPECIAL NEEDS IN PSYCHOLOGY OR COUNSELLING-1POST

Duties and Responsibilities:

• To undergo an introductory course in educational skills for those who have not previously experienced it.
• To conduct lectures and hold lessons, seminars and practical for undergraduate programs.
• To prepare and present case studies
• To conduct and publish/disseminate research findings.
• To identify students who are facing difficulties, to intervene and provide assistance and support.
• Participation in consulting and community service under the seventh supervision.
• To attend workshops, conferences and seminars.
• To perform any other duties that may be assigned by the relevant authorities

Qualifications and Experience:

Holder of a master’s degree in education, whether in special needs, psychology or counseling, with a GPA of no less than 4.0 out of 5 and a GPA of no less than 3.8 out of 5 in the first degree in the respective fields.

Possess a Master’s degree in Mining Engineering or a Master’s degree in Mineral Processing Engineering with a minimum GPA of 4.0 out of 5 and a GPA of at least 3.8 out of 5 in the first class in the respective fields.
